This series is a Q&A segment which, due to its length, was divided into three parts so that it may appear in Living Springs Institute's bimonthly publication, Shaqah. The question asked was, "What is the difference between The Holy Ghost and holiness?" The answer covers not just the subject of holiness and The Holy Ghost, but also the subjects of The Trinity, how man is made in God's Triune image, righteousness, sanctification, salvation, and much more!
All three parts of this Q&A are presented here without modification, just as they appeared in each of their respective issues of Shaqah. However, for convenience, each part has been republished in its own independent PDF file so you can read, save, and print them as you may desire.
Part I begins the discussion about this question by talking about names, and how names form. From there it discusses the names used for God. This leads into a discussion about the fact God is a Triune Being, what it means to be triune, and why each of the parts of God are referred to by the names They are commonly known by.
Part II begins with a discussion about why God chose to use names that relate to our physical family relationships to describe parts of His Trinity, and why He did not do this in describing The Holy Ghost. This leads into a discussion about the similarities and differences between our flesh and spirit, as well as how they interact with the mind to make us a whole being. In talking about our spirit's operation, it covers Who The Holy Ghost is, how we relate to Him, and why God sent Him to us to be our Comforter.
Part III discusses what sin is and why we should desire to eliminate it out of our lives. In doing this, it covers the subjects of holiness, righteousness, sanctification, and the basic dynamics of salvation. In covering what holiness is, this part brings into clear focus the answer to the question this writing is based on.
